FLX provides powerful tools for managing pricing strategies across multiple sales channels. With the ability to apply both channel-specific and global price modifiers, you can tailor your pricing to meet various business needs. Recent enhancements include the introduction of MAP-based rules, allowing for more precise pricing adjustments based on the Minimum Advertised Price. These tools help ensure compliance with pricing policies while offering flexibility in how markups are applied.

How to Use Map-Based Modifiers
To apply MAP-based pricing modifiers:
Navigate to the Pricing Modifiers Section: Go to the desired sales channel or global pricing settings where you want to apply the MAP-based modifiers.
Select MAP-Based Modifier Type: Choose whether to apply a flat markup or a tiered markup based on the MAP:
- Flat Markup on MAP: Apply a consistent markup percentage or amount across all products based on their MAP.
- Tiered Markup on MAP: Set different markup percentages or amounts depending on the MAP range of the products.
Set the Markup Values: Enter the specific markup values that should be applied. For tiered markups, define the MAP ranges and the corresponding markup percentages or amounts.
Enable and Save the Modifier: Once you've configured the MAP-based rules, enable the modifier and save your changes.
Review the Modifier Preview: Check the modifier preview to see how the MAP-based rules are applied to your products. This will show you the final pricing after the MAP-based adjustments.
Brand Rules Prioritization
Rule Execution Sequence
Flxpoint allows prioritization of pricing rules at different levels—Base, Category, and Brand. If all rules are enabled, the execution follows this sequence:
- Base Rule – Applied first as the default.
- Category Rule – Applied next if it matches the product’s category.
-
Brand Rule – Applied last and takes the highest priority when enabled.
Note: If Brand Rules are enabled, they override Base and Category rules when conditions match. If no match occurs, the system defaults to the next rule in sequence.
How to Prioritize Brand Rules
- Navigate to Modifiers: Go to the Modifiers section under Global or Channel-specific pricing settings.
- Select Brand Rules Tab: Click the Brand Rules tab and enable it.
- Set Prioritization: Choose to Prioritize Brand Rules over Base Rule and Category Rules.
-
Save Changes: Confirm the prioritization by saving your settings.
The screenshot below shows an example where Brand Rules are prioritized over Base and Category Rules. The Modifier Preview highlights how pricing adjustments apply based on the selected prioritization.
Example Pricing Calculation
SKU Example: 2979995
- Base Rule: +5% markup → Price: $25.87
- Category Rule: +10% markup → Price: $27.10
- Brand Rule: +17% markup → Price: $28.83 (final price applied)
In this case, the Brand Rule was prioritized, applying the 17% markup and overriding the lower-priority rules.
Key Notes
- Testing Recommendations: Always test pricing outputs in the Modifier Preview to verify how rules apply.
- Manual Overrides: Disable Brand Rules temporarily to fall back to Category or Base Rules without removing configurations.
