Flxpoint supports a three-tier category nesting system: Category 1, Category 2, and Category 3. These categories can be fully customized to suit your business needs using mapping sets in the platform. For GunBroker users, Flxpoint also offers an AI Category Mapping feature to automate category assignments.

What are Mapping Sets?

Mapping sets are tools that allow you to replace incoming data values with desired output values. By applying them in mapping templates, you can translate data from external sources into a format that works best for your system.

How Do Mapping Sets Work?

Mapping sets operate through a simple two-column structure:

• Convert From Value: The incoming data value to be changed.
• To Value: The desired output value.

Mapping sets are particularly useful when categorizing products into Flxpoint’s three-category structure, ensuring consistency and accuracy across listings.

File Upload for Individual Categories

You can upload mapping files on a per-category-level basis:

• For each category level (Category 1, Category 2, or Category 3), you can upload a separate file to manage mappings.
• Files uploaded to disabled categories will not be migrated and will be discarded automatically.

AI Category Mapping for Gun Broker Channels

Flxpoint offers an AI Category Mapping feature exclusively for the Gunbroker channel. This intelligent tool automatically maps categories without requiring manual file uploads.

Within Flxpoint, product categories play a key role in determining how your items appear on any sales channel. You can continue creating and using your own mapping sets manually or leverage the AI Category Mapping feature if you’re publishing to GunBroker.

• If you already have successful mapping sets to publish to GunBroker (or any other channel), you can keep using them.
• If you are a new user or want to “start fresh” with your category mapping, using the AI feature makes sense. Our team will be happy to assist as needed.

Accessing the Category Management Page

1. Navigate to Connections in the left-hand panel.
2. Select the Sales Channel you wish to configure.
   • For AI Category Mapping, select GunBroker.
3. Go to the Settings tab.
4. Scroll to the Categories section.
   
   
   
    

Manual Mapping Sets

• Create Mapping Files: Upload mapping files that associate your internal product categories with the corresponding GunBroker categories (or another channel’s categories).
• Manage Existing Sets: If you already have sets in place, you can keep using or update them as needed. These remain valid if you do not enable AI Category Mapping for GunBroker.
  
  
   

Enabling or Disabling AI Category Mapping

While the AI feature is only available on GunBroker, you can toggle between the manual and AI approach within the Category Settings page (see Accessing the Category Management Page).

• Use Mapping Set: Standard/manual approach using your own files.
• Use AI Category Mapping: Automated approach managed by the AI tool.

Note:
If you switch from AI back to manual, any previously uploaded files and mapping sets remain intact. The system will resume using those files once you Save.

How to Update Categories (Steps to Use Mapping Sets)

1. Navigate to Settings.
2. Select Global Modifiers.
3. Scroll down to Categories.
4. For each category level being updated:
   1. Click the gray toggle to activate the category.
   2. Select the checkbox “Use Mapping Set” to upload your file.
   3. Upload your mapping file for the selected category.
   4. Click Save in the top right corner to apply changes.

Important Notes

• Files uploaded to disabled categories are not migrated and will be deleted.
• Switching between AI Category Mapping and Mapping Sets does not delete uploaded files.
• You can download existing mapping sets by selecting Download File in the interface.
