FLX supports a three-tier category nesting system: Category 1, Category 2, and Category 3. These categories can be fully customized to suit your business needs using mapping sets in the platform.

What are Mapping Sets?

Mapping sets are tools that allow you to replace incoming data values with desired output values. By applying them in mapping templates, you can translate data from external sources into a format that works best for your system.

How Do Mapping Sets Work?

Mapping sets operate through a simple two-column structure:

• Convert From Value: This column represents the incoming data value to be changed.
• To Value: This column defines the desired output value.

Mapping sets are particularly useful when categorizing products into FLX's three-category structure, ensuring consistency and accuracy.

File Upload for Individual Categories

You can now upload mapping files per category level.

• For each category (Category 1, 2, or 3), upload a separate file to manage mappings.
• Files uploaded to disabled categories will not be migrated. These files will be discarded automatically.

AI Category Mapping for Gunbroker Channels

The AI Category Mapping feature is exclusive to the Gunbroker channel. This intelligent tool automatically maps categories without requiring manual uploads.

Important Behaviors:

1. When AI Category Mapping is enabled:
   • All uploaded files and mapping sets are overridden.
   • Mapping is handled exclusively by the AI tool.
2. If you switch back to mapping sets:
   • Previously uploaded files remain intact.
   • The system resumes using these files for mapping upon saving.

Ensure that this feature is tested for both Gunbroker and non-Gunbroker channels to verify functionality.

How to Update Categories

Steps to Use Mapping Sets:

1. Navigate to Settings.
2. Select Global Modifiers.
3. Scroll down to Categories.
4. For each category level being updated:
   • Click the gray toggle to activate the category.
   • Select the checkbox "Use Mapping Set" to upload your file.
5. Upload your mapping file for the selected category.
6. Click Save in the top right corner to apply changes.

Steps to Use AI Category Mapping:

1. Navigate to Settings.
2. Select Global Modifiers.
3. Scroll down to Categories.
4. Select the option "Use AI Category Mapping."
5. Save changes to enable AI-based mapping.
