Force Sync and Sync Options

Flxpoint provides users with the ability to force sync their listings to ensure accurate inventory and pricing updates. This feature allows users to bypass scheduled syncs and immediately push changes to their sales channel. Users can choose between a Partial Sync for targeted updates or a Full Sync for comprehensive updates.

Partial Sync vs. Full Sync

Partial Sync

  • Syncs only listings marked Out of Sync (e.g., pricing or quantity discrepancies).
  • Availability: If there are no out-of-sync listings, the Partial Sync option is disabled (greyed out).
  • Ideal for resolving targeted issues without touching the entire catalog.
  • Reduces sync time by updating only necessary listings.

Full Sync

  • Syncs all listings for the sales channel, regardless of current status.
  • Useful for major updates (bulk pricing changes, configuration changes).
  • May take longer depending on catalog size.

Why is Partial Sync disabled?
Partial Sync only runs when there are listings currently Out of Sync. If nothing qualifies, the button is disabled. To force changes across all listings, use Full Sync.

FAQ: Why does Sync All Listings show “Sync 0 listings”? That count refers to items currently Out of Sync. Full Sync still runs and updates all listings.

Use Cases for Force Sync

Force Sync is commonly used as a support tool for resolving unexpected listing issues. Key scenarios include:

Unexpected Data Changes

  • Example: A newly installed WooCommerce plugin reset inventory levels to zero.
  • Solution: Running a Partial Sync restores the correct quantities.

Urgent Inventory or Pricing Adjustments

  • If stock levels or prices need immediate updates, Force Sync ensures changes take effect without waiting for the next scheduled update.

Re-Linking After SKU Changes

  • When product SKUs are updated on a sales channel, Flxpoint may lose the connection.
  • Running a Full Sync ensures pricing and inventory are pushed to the updated product.

Validating Data After an Integration Update

  • After integrating a new sales channel or modifying configurations, running a Full Sync ensures listings are correctly linked and up to date.

Re-Linking and Force Sync

Users often need to both re-link and sync their listings after SKU or product updates. Combining these functionalities may provide a more efficient way to keep product data accurate across sales channels.

How to Run a Sync

  1. Go to your sales channel.
  2. Click Run Sync, then choose:
    • Partial Sync — updates only Out of Sync listings. (Disabled if none are out of sync.)
    • Full Sync — updates all listings.
  3. Click Run Sync to start.

Tip: If you expected Partial Sync to be available, check your Listings > Sync Status or run a Full Sync if you need to push changes everywhere.
