Overview
This document provides an overview of how to manage channel listings and linking options within the Flxpoint platform. Users can automate or manually trigger linking jobs to synchronize product listings across multiple channels. The platform supports automatic linking through a daisy chain process that follows a sync job if it's already running. Additionally, users have the option to manually trigger a linking job after the listing builder job is complete, giving them greater control over the synchronization process. In cases where a channel already has a linking job running or queued, the system will notify the user and offer options for managing the queued jobs.
Linking Options
Linking options in the Flxpoint platform enable users to synchronize product listings across multiple channels automatically or manually. The linking process occurs after a product sync or listing builder job has been completed, ensuring that all relevant listings are updated across connected channels. In the Flxpoint platform, linking serves as a crucial step to maintain consistency and visibility across different marketplaces and platforms.
Unlike other versions of the platform, this implementation does not include a linking priority feature, simplifying the process while still ensuring accurate linking between product listings and channels.
Daisy Chain Linking Job
Once a sync job is already running, a daisy chain linking job will automatically follow. This ensures that any updates made during the sync process are reflected across all linked channels. The daisy chain linking functionality helps to streamline the process by automating the linking of products once their synchronization is complete. This eliminates the need for manual intervention and ensures that all updates are propagated across your connected channels seamlessly.
Manual Trigger for Linking Job
In addition to the automatic linking process, users can manually trigger a linking job after the listing builder job is complete. This provides flexibility, allowing users to initiate a linking process when they need to, rather than waiting for the automated process to take place. Manually triggering the linking job is useful in scenarios where immediate updates are necessary, or when a user prefers to manage the linking process on their own terms.
To manually trigger a linking job:
- Navigate to the listing builder job once it is complete.
- Select the option to manually trigger the link job.
- Confirm the selected channels for linking and start the job.
Handling Queued Linking Jobs
When a user selects a channel that already has a linking job running or queued up, the system will notify the user about the status of the current linking job. The user is then presented with options to either wait for the queued job to complete or take other actions, depending on their needs. This feature ensures that multiple linking jobs do not overlap, preventing potential issues with data synchronization across different channels.
For example:
- If a linking job is already running, the user can monitor its progress.
- If a linking job is queued, the user has the option to manage the queue or wait for it to complete before triggering a new job.
