Product and Listing Customizations

This document helps you on how to effectively use bulk customizations and bulk unlocking for products and listings in Flxpoint. It covers the essential steps for importing customizations, unlocking fields, and managing product tags. The document also highlights important considerations, such as file requirements and the irreversible nature of bulk customizations once they are applied. Additionally, it provides instructions on filtering locked fields and updating products, ensuring that your inventory and listings are customized to meet your specific needs.

Icon Important Note: Bulk Customizations

Changes made through bulk customizations are permanent and cannot be reverted once applied. Before uploading your customization file, ensure the following:

  • File size must be 100MB or less.
  • The first row must contain headers.
  • If customizing variant data, ensure the variant SKU is mapped. For parent data, the parent SKU must be mapped. Unmapped SKUs will result in uncustomized fields.
  • Pricing and quantity fields will become locked if customized, and Get Inventory operations will not affect these fields unless unlocked.
  • Modifying product categories will override previously customized listing categories.

Attribute Bulk Customization and Mapping

When performing attribute bulk customizations, it's important to ensure that the file is correctly mapped to the appropriate columns. In the customization file, you should include a column for the attribute value and hardcode the attribute name with what you want directly within the UI.

Example: If you're customizing the color attribute, your file should have a "Color" column where you specify the value (e.g., "Red," "Blue") for each SKU.

Steps:

  1. Navigate to the Products, depending on where the attributes apply.
  2. Follow the steps to import customizations, ensuring that each attribute is mapped correctly in the file.
  3. Verify that the appropriate fields are checked off before importing the customizations.

This update will provide clarity to users who need to understand how to properly map and customize attributes in bulk.

Handling Listing Errors

Listing errors can occur for various reasons, such as mismatched attributes, missing required fields, or configuration issues. This section will guide you through identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving listing errors to ensure your products are properly listed on connected channels.

1. Understanding Listing Errors

Listing errors typically occur when the data in your product listing does not meet the requirements of the connected channel. Common reasons include:

  • Missing required fields (e.g., SKU, price, or quantity).
  • Invalid attribute mappings.
  • Incompatible data formats or values.

2. Steps to Clear Listing Errors

Follow these steps to resolve listing errors efficiently:

  1. Navigate to the Products section in your FlxPoint dashboard.
  2. Use the Actions menu and select Clear Listing Errors.
  3. A window will appear listing all channels associated with the selected products. Check the boxes for the channels where you want to clear errors.
  4. Click Clear Errors to process the changes. FlxPoint will reattempt to list the products on the selected channels.

You can update products in Flxpoint to refresh product details, adjust supplier priorities, or correct missing information. This process rebuilds product data based on linked suppliers, ensuring accuracy.

Image 1
  • Go to the Products Page: Navigate to Catalog > Products and locate the items you need to update.
  • Select Products: Check the box next to one or more products.
  • Choose “Update Products”: Click Actions > Update Products to open the update options.
  • Select Supplier Priority:
    • Same priority as product creation – Retains the original supplier priority settings.
    • Different supplier priority – Allows reordering suppliers to prioritize updated data.
Image 1
  • Confirm & Update: Adjust supplier order if needed, then click Update Products to apply changes.

Reviewing Changes

Once the update is complete, open the product page to verify updates in title, description, images, and attributes. If data is missing or incorrect, confirm supplier feeds are up-to-date and reattempt the update with an adjusted priority order.

Troubleshooting

  • Unexpected data? Check supplier feeds and ensure the correct priority order is selected.
  • Missing fields? Some attributes may be locked, review settings if necessary.
  • Bulk updates? You can update multiple products at once for efficiency.

Important:

If the product you are updating is connected to a channel listing, the listing is also rebuilt and adjusts via the channel mapping set (if enabled). Whichever mapping setting you are using at the time of the update, rather than be global or channel, is the one that will be used when the operation runs.
