The Category Manager in Flxpoint helps you organize product categories across your inventory and sales channels. Use it to view, filter, modify, and sync categories, ensuring your product listings are consistent and easy for customers to navigate.
Accessing Categories
Go to the Inventory or Products section. Click the Category Filter button (a funnel or dropdown icon). A dropdown shows categories with products, structured in up to three levels, like "Bags & Totes" > "Totes" > "Canvas Totes." Expand or collapse levels with the arrow icon. Product counts may appear next to each category.
Switch between views at the top of the dropdown:
- Products: See your product list with filters applied.
- Categories: Manage the category structure direc
Filter Categories
Click a category in the dropdown to filter products. Selecting a subcategory (e.g., "Totes") includes its parent ("Bags & Totes") to capture all related items. Use the search bar to find categories quickly.
Selected categories appear as tags. Remove a tag by clicking its "X", removing a subcategory keeps the parent unless you remove it too, but removing a main category clears its subcategories. Multiple tags wrap to fit the space.
Manage Categories
In Categories view, a searchable page lists your categories in a tree structure (up to three levels). Export this structure using the export button.
Edit Categories
Click the three-dot menu next to a category to:
- Rename: Enter a new name (e.g., "Totes" to "Handbags") and save.
- View Products: See products in that category, filtered to that branch.

Move: Select "Move Category," choose a new parent in the pop-up, and confirm. Subcategories move with it (you’ll see a message), but you can’t move to the top level. A notification confirms the move.
Save and Sync Changes
Make changes like renaming or moving categories, they won’t save until you click Save. After saving, you’ll be asked to apply changes to sales channels (e.g., Amazon, eBay). Select the channels and click Apply. A confirmation message appears once done. New products will automatically use your updated categories.
