Welcome to the Global Quantity Modifiers guide. This document explains how to apply consistent quantity rules, such as minimum stock thresholds and hiding out-of-stock products, across all of your connected sales channels at once. Use this setup to simplify inventory control, reduce overselling, and maintain a clean storefront without having to configure each channel individually.
Configuring Global Quantity Modifiers
Global quantity modifiers help you apply the same stock visibility rules across all connected sales channels, saving time and ensuring consistent behavior throughout your store. This is especially useful if you're managing high-volume catalogs or want to avoid configuring each channel individually.
Use these settings to prevent overselling by automatically marking products as “out of stock” when quantities fall below a defined level, or to keep your storefront clean by hiding unavailable products entirely.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Open Global Modifiers
Navigate to Settings > Product Modifiers from the left-hand menu. This section controls global-level rules that apply to all sales channels unless they’ve been overridden individually.
2. Enable Quantity Modifiers
Find the Quantity section and toggle it on. This reveals two key options to configure.
-
Set a Minimum Quantity Filter
Use this filter to set a quantity threshold (e.g., 2 or 5). If a product’s available stock falls below this number, it will be automatically updated to display as “Out of Stock.”
👉 Example: If you set the filter to 3 and a product only has 2 left, it won’t be listed as available—even though it technically has stock—helping you avoid overselling.
-
Enable “Hide Out of Stock Products”
By default, some platforms (like Shopify) continue showing out-of-stock items. Enabling this option ensures those items are automatically hidden or removed from the storefront (if supported by the platform).
👉 Example: If a product sells out and this setting is enabled, it will disappear from your storefront instead of showing a "Sold Out" badge.
3. Save Your Changes
Click Save to store your new configuration. This will update the rule set, but the changes won’t apply to your current listings yet.
4. Sync to Apply the Updates
After saving, you’ll be prompted to “Sync changes to existing Listings.”
Click Sync Now to push the updated rules across your live listings.
