American Tire Distributors as a Source

Integrating American Tire Distributors (ATD) as a source in Flxpoint gives you access to a vast inventory of tires and helps you streamline your e-commerce operations. This guide walks you through connecting ATD, importing inventory, sending orders, and retrieving shipment tracking.

How to Connect

Before you begin โ€” test in Sandbox mode: When setting up the integration between American Tire Distributors (ATD) and Flxpoint, it's crucial to start by testing in the Sandbox environment. ATD requires that you perform a successful order test in this environment before allowing live orders to be placed in the Production environment. After placing a test order, contact ATD for confirmation before switching to Production mode, ensuring your live setup is fully optimized and error-free.
๐Ÿงญ Phase 1: Add ATD as a Source +
Log in to Flxpoint
Access your account, navigate to the Connections section, and then click the Fulfillment Sources option.
Add ATD as a Source
Click Add Source and select American Tire Distributors (ATD) from the list.
Enter API Credentials
Input the API key, secret, and any other required information provided by ATD. Flxpoint securely authenticates with ATD using these credentials.
๐Ÿ”Œ Phase 2: Configure and Go Live +
Configure Products and Inventory
Map ATD's product categories and set up real-time inventory synchronization. See the Product Operations section below for mapping and configuration details, including the Catalog Type setting.
Test in Sandbox
Place a test order in the Sandbox environment. Contact ATD to confirm the test before switching to Production.
Activate Production
Once confirmed, enable the Production environment to start processing live orders.

Product Operations

The Get Inventory operation imports your ATD catalog into Flxpoint and keeps your product data, quantities, and pricing up to date.

Get Inventory

Supported | ATD โ€” Get Inventory

Introduction
Get Inventory imports your American Tire Distributors (ATD) catalog into Flxpoint โ€” product data, variations (Size and Side Wall), pricing, quantity, weights and dimensions, images, and categories โ€” and keeps it up to date. Using this feature with Flxpoint allows you to seamlessly integrate your inventory data, ensuring that you have up-to-date product information.
Note: This integration helps streamline operations, reduces manual errors, and ensures that your inventory levels are always accurate, ultimately leading to better customer satisfaction and more efficient inventory management.
How It Works
  • 1Select Connection โ€” Choose your ATD connection (uses your ATD API credentials).
  • 2Fetch Catalog โ€” Flxpoint retrieves the ATD product feed, including product data, variations, pricing, quantity, weights and dimensions, images, and categories.
  • 3Map Fields โ€” Incoming data is matched to your Mapping Template.
  • 4Save to Global Inventory Pool โ€” Values are saved to the Global Inventory Pool and flow to channels after your next push.
Setup Instructions
  • 1Connect an Integration โ€” Choose American Tire Distributors (ATD) and select your existing ATD connection (or create one). Click Save and Proceed.
  • 2Configure Settings
    • Quantity Type โ€” ATD provides three quantity options: Localplus, Nationwide, and Onhand. Quantity will be saved as selected in your mapping template.
    • Catalog Type โ€” Choose Ship To Store (default) or Ship To Home for product retrieval (see below).
    • Archive / Un-Archive Inventory โ€” When enabled, items absent from the latest feed are archived and re-activated automatically if they return.
  • 3Define a Mapping Template โ€” Confirm your quantity type and category mapping, then click Save and Complete.
  • 4Save & Schedule โ€” Run manually first to verify the import, then enable a schedule (jobs run in UTC).
Supported Features
  • Custom Fields: Additional tire information is saved in variant custom fields.
  • Variations / Options: We use Size and Side Wall to create options.
  • Generic Pricing (& Currency).
  • Quantity: Three types of quantity option โ€” Localplus, Nationwide, Onhand. Quantity will be saved as selected in the mapping template.
  • Weights & Dimensions (& Units): Weight is available in pounds and dimensions are available in inches.
  • Images: Available.
  • Categories: Single-level category is available in the feed.
  • Delta Feed vs Full Feed are supported.
  • Archive Support.
Not Supported
  • Client Pricing (& Currency).
  • Multiple Warehouses: We support a single warehouse per integration. To use more than one warehouse, create a separate integration for each warehouse.
Catalog Type: Ship To Store vs Ship To Home
A Catalog Type setting lets you choose where product data is retrieved from. By default, products are retrieved from the Ship To Store (STS) catalog. You can switch this to Ship To Home (STH) to retrieve products from the Ship To Home catalog instead. This is useful when some items (for example, oversized tires) are not eligible for Ship To Home delivery, so you can select the catalog that matches how you intend to fulfill those products.
How brand, style, and product data is sourced: Brand and style data still comes from the standard (Ship To Store) catalog, while product data can come from the Ship To Home catalog when Catalog Type is set to Ship To Home. The product ingestion pipeline works in three levels โ€” brands, styles, and products โ€” and only the product-level retrieval is affected by the Catalog Type you select.
Specification differences: Product specification details can differ between the Ship To Store and Ship To Home catalogs. If you switch Catalog Type, review your variant specifications and custom-field mappings to confirm the values populate as expected.

Quick Checks
  • ATD connection is selected and the API credentials pass Test Connection.
  • Quantity Type (Localplus, Nationwide, or Onhand) is selected in the mapping template.
  • Catalog Type (Ship To Store or Ship To Home) is set to match how you intend to fulfill these products.
  • Archive / Un-Archive is enabled in only one inventory job โ€” not in two at once.
  • Run once manually first, then enable a daily schedule once verified.
Troubleshooting
  • Catalog not importing: Open the ATD connection and click Test Connection. If it fails, re-enter your ATD API credentials and retry.
  • Unexpected or missing items: Confirm your Catalog Type is set correctly. Some items (e.g., oversized tires) are not eligible for Ship To Home, so they may not appear when the Ship To Home catalog is selected.
  • Specifications look different after switching catalogs: Product specification details can differ between Ship To Store and Ship To Home. Review your variant specification and custom-field mappings.
Tip: Use the same Quantity Type and Catalog Type consistently so your inventory stays aligned with how you fulfill orders.

Order Operations

These operations submit orders to ATD for fulfillment and subsequently import the shipment details, ensuring a seamless integration between order processing and shipment tracking.

Send Orders

Supported | ATD โ€” Send Orders

Introduction
Send Orders enables you to submit customer orders directly to ATD for fulfillment, streamlining the order processing and delivery process. An order is created with ATD through your configured connection, and the integration tracks the response so you know it was accepted.
Note: The Item ID received during Get Inventory is sent with each order. If the Item ID is blank in source inventory, order processing will fail โ€” make sure your catalog import is complete before sending orders.
How the Job Works
  • 1Connect an Integration โ€” Select your ATD connection.
  • 2Map Order Fields โ€” Map the order fields (see Mapping Template & Configuration).
  • 3Submit & Acknowledge โ€” Flxpoint sends the Fulfillment Request Number with the order; ATD returns an order ID on successful processing (auto-acknowledgement).
Reminder: ATD requires a successful order test in the Sandbox environment before live orders are allowed in Production. Contact ATD to confirm your test before switching to Production mode.
Supported Features
  • Fulfillment Request Number: The Flxpoint FR# is sent in the order.
  • FR Item Association: The Item ID received during Get Inventory is sent. If the Item ID is blank in source inventory, FR processing will fail.
  • Auto Acknowledgements: We receive an order ID in the response for successful order processing.
  • Shipping Selection: The shipping method is selected per the logic mentioned in the operational flow.
Not Supported
  • Customer Association.
  • Custom Fields.
  • Attachments.
Quick Checks
  • The ATD connection passes Test Connection.
  • Your Sandbox test order was confirmed by ATD before going live.
  • Item ID is present in source inventory for every line item.
Troubleshooting
  • Order processing fails: Confirm the Item ID is not blank in source inventory โ€” a missing Item ID will cause the order to fail.
  • Live orders not accepted: Make sure you completed the Sandbox test order and that ATD confirmed it before you switched to Production.
  • No acknowledgement returned: A successful order returns an order ID. If none is returned, check the job log for the ATD response and retry.
Tip: Keep your Get Inventory import current so every product carries a valid Item ID before orders are routed to ATD.

Get Shipments

Supported | ATD โ€” Get Shipments

Introduction
Get Shipments allows you to retrieve shipment tracking details and updates for your orders, ensuring that accurate delivery information is always available. It imports shipment details after orders are submitted, giving you a seamless link between order processing and shipment tracking.
Note: Get Shipments retrieves tracking for orders ATD has shipped. Partial shipments are supported, so an order can return more than one shipment over time.
How the Job Works
  • 1Connect an Integration โ€” Select your ATD connection.
  • 2Map Shipment Fields โ€” Map shipping method and SKU (see Mapping Template & Configuration).
  • 3Schedule โ€” Run on a regular schedule so tracking flows back to your orders as ATD ships them.
Supported Features
  • Carrier & Methods: Only the shipping method is available in the response.
  • Shipment Item Association: SKU is available in the response.
  • Partial Shipments.
Not Supported
  • Invoice Information.
  • Custom Fields (CFs).
Operation Details
Carrier & Method SUPPORTED Shipping method available in response.
Shipment Item Association SUPPORTED By SKU.
Partial Shipments SUPPORTED Multiple shipments can complete fulfillment.
Invoice Information NOT SUPPORTED Not included in this feed.
Custom Fields NOT SUPPORTED Standard shipment fields only.
Quick Checks
  • The ATD connection passes Test Connection.
  • Shipping method and SKU are mapped in the template.
  • The operation has an active schedule.
Troubleshooting
  • No tracking yet: The order may not have shipped on ATD's side. Tracking appears once ATD reports a shipment.
  • Carrier missing: Only the shipping method is returned; confirm the shipping method field is mapped.
  • Partial orders: Expect more than one shipment per order when ATD ships items separately.
Tip: Schedule Get Shipments to run regularly so tracking updates reach your customers without manual checks.
